Exercise of the month: “the perfect squat” by Jules

Are your glutes firing when you squat? No?! Then maybe you’re not quite getting it right! Fresh personal trainer Jules guides you safely through the perfect squat.

What are benefits of squatting?

Here are just a few of the reasons why you should start squatting today:

How should I be squatting?
With feet shoulder-width apart, keeping your upper body as straight as possible, lower yourself down as if you were sitting in a chair – roughly to a 90 degree angle. Return to a standing position.

The secret to activating your glutes is to drive up through your heels.

Safety tip: be careful not to lock your knees when you reach standing position.
