Staying Safe at Fresh Gym and the Fresh Sports Centre

The health, wellbeing and safety of our Members, visitors and staff remain our number one priority. You will notice some changes to the layout of our gym and classes; and there are new Covid-safety procedures in place to keep you safe during your visit.

We understand that you may have questions about returning or visiting Fresh and would kindly ask that you read the following FAQs and safety protocols to better understand these changes before you visit.

If you feel unwell in any way (not just with symptoms of Covid-19) or show any signs or symptoms that could be related to Covid-19, please DO NOT attend a gym session or class.

Pre-Book Gym Sessions and Classes

Use of the Gym and classes is via pre-booked sessions only. Gym sessions are for up to 1 hour and classes as per the timetable.

As a Member, you can pre-book, manage and cancel your session via the FitSense App. Visitors will need to call to make a booking. Please call 01932 225953 for Fresh Gym and 01932 253400 for the Fresh Sports Centre or email us and we’ll be happy to help.

FAQs

What are your Opening Times?

Fresh Gym is open 6.30am-10pm Monday to Thursday; 6.30am-8pm Friday; 8am-6pm Saturday and 9am-2pm Sunday. The Fitness Suite at the Fresh Sports Centre remains closed for the time-being.

How will I be able to social distance in the Gym?

We have set maximum occupancy limits for each 1-hour session. There is at least a 1m space between our equipment where possible, to ensure there is adequate space between members whilst you work out. We have introduced clear signage around the gym and a Personal Safety Guide. We kindly ask that you restrict your stay to no more than 60 minutes.

How often is everything cleaned?

Our Team are continuously cleaning throughout the day with antiviral cleaning products. We have a stringent cleaning routine through all areas with specific attention paid to high touch-point areas.

We’re asking all users to help keep our gym safe by sanitising equipment before and after use. On entering the Reception area please collect your cleaning cloth and sanitising spray. This is for use during your visit to wipe down equipment before and after use. PLEASE SPRAY DIRECTLY ON TO THE CLOTH AND NOT DIRECTLY ON THE EQUIPMENT. Place your used cloth in the bin provided on Exit and return your spray bottle to the ‘used bottles’ table next to it.

There are Hygiene Stations located throughout the gym and studio areas with further cleaning spray, disposable paper towels and hand sanitiser.

Hand sanitisers are located throughout and on Entry and Exit.

Is all the usual equipment available?

We’ve worked hard on the layout, ensuring adequate spacing between equipment, to make the majority of our gym equipment available for use.

Are the Changing Rooms in use?

The Changing Rooms, Toilets and Shower are now available to use.

Is the water fountain in use?

The water fountains are now open and bottled water is available to purchase at Reception.

Should I bring a sweat towel?

You can bring a sweat towel but please DO NOT wipe down equipment with your towel.

What if I’ve booked a class?

Please see the Safety Protocols for each type of class in the links to the right of this page.

Do I need to bring a Yoga/Pilates mat?

If you have a mat, please bring and use this for your class. There are mats available to use or you can purchase your own mat from Fresh Reception.

I’m booked on a Class, can I use the Gym before or after my class?

A Class booking is just that. Please DO NOT enter the Cardio or Free-Weight area to warm up or workout. These areas must be pre-booked.

Do I need to wear a mask to the Gym/class?

We closely follow government guidelines and currently you do not need to wear a mask in the gym. You are welcome to do so, if you would be more comfortable wearing one.

Does exercise increase resilience to COVID-19?

The World Health Organisation recommend physical activity benefits both the body and mind.

Are Personal Training sessions available?

Yes, Personal Training sessions are available. PTs have protocols in place for safe training.
