The Fox Way Walk Link 3: Shere to Bramley

January 31, 2017 @ 2:56 pm

The Fox Way Walk is a 39-mile circular walk which takes in the lovely countryside around Guildford and can be completed in 7 key stages (links). Fresh Air Outdoor training have arranged to complete a different ‘link’ of this walk on the first Sunday of each month – it’s a great way to explore the great Surrey countryside in a friendly group!

Link 3: Shere to Bramley (one direction only)
Sunday 5th February, 9:30am
Intensity level: low impact
Fitness Level: beginner to advanced

We intend to start the walk at Shere and finish in Bramley, walking in one direction. Please email freshair@trainfresh.co.uk or phone Fresh Gym reception on 01932 225 953 to confirm that you will be joining us, as transport from Bramley back to our start point (Shere) will need to be arranged for some. Do invite your friends and family – this walk is for everyone.

Meeting point – please note we no longer meet at Fresh Gym
We ask that people meet at Shere Village car park to begin the walk at 9:30am. We will aim to leave as promptly as possible. The free public car park is situated at Shere’s recreation ground and cricket pitch (postcode GU5 9HE). When dropping your cars off at the disused Bramley & Wonersh Station first, it is street parking only along Station Road in Bramley (the best postcode to use for this is the Business Centre GU5 0AZ).

Driving / car sharing
We ask that people car share where possible. If you are coming in a group, there is the option to park your cars at Bramley Station and arrange for one driver to take your group and meet us at the car park in Shere. If you are coming on your own, then you can jump in the car with one of us! Just let us know your preference.

Intensity level: low impact
This walk is suitable for all abilities. Friends, family, accompanied children and dogs are definitely welcome (see notes on children and dogs below!).

Weather contingency
The weather is forecast for rain but this of course could change! Please bring suitable walking attire, especially appropriate footwear as paths may be muddy from rain. Welly boots are definitely an option.

Snacks and water
Each person is responsible for bringing their own snacks and water. We will be stopping for refreshments at the end of the walk and will advise this on the day.

Dogs
Dogs can be brought on this walk and must be kept under close control at all times. Please be advised that we will be walking along the road at points and dogs will need to be placed on a lead where necessary or as requested.

Children
Accompanied children under 18 are welcome. Please be aware that some parts of the route will involve walking along the road (without a marked footpath). Constant supervision will be required at all times.

Please email freshair@trainfresh.co.uk or phone Fresh Gym reception on 01932 225 953 to confirm that you will be joining us.  If you know of anyone that would be interested in these walks, please let us know and we can send them through the details.

See you Sunday!
